Google unveiled significant upgrades to its AI Mode in Search, introducing Canvas and Search Live as flagship features. Canvas serves as a dynamic workspace for drafting and refining project outlines, with upcoming document upload capabilities by year-end. U.S. testers in AI Mode Labs will gain access within weeks.

Search Live integrates Project Astra's technology with Google Lens, enabling real-time visual queries. "It's like having an expert on speed dial," said Robby Stein, VP of Product for Google Search. The mobile rollout begins this week for U.S. testers, with desktop functionality following shortly.
